The owners of Las Lajas, Oscar and Francisca Chacón, are third generation coffee farmers known for their organic processes that produce spectacular coffees and immaculately processed coffee fruit tea, which we have used for our inaugural batch of Husky.
After the tragic loss of their father due to a pesticide-caused illness in 1980, Oscar and Francisca vowed to grow organically. Las Lajas was one of the first farms to produce organic coffee and remains one of the only certified-organic farms in Costa Rica.
The name Las Lajas describes the indigenous-crafted stone artifacts found on the farm. The farm is divided into several parcels, each with its own unique micro-climate. With its organic process and volcanic soil, Las Lajas is one of the best coffee farms in the world.
